The American Petroleum Institute, an industry group, on Tuesday said U.S. crude-oil inventories fell 3.6 million barrels in the latest week,
news reports said. API said inventories at the New York Mercantile Exchange delivery point in Cushing, Okla., rose by 1.5 million barrels, according to reports. Traders look to the API data for clues to the closely watched weekly inventory data released by the U.S. Energy Department on Wednesday morning.
