Почитал ленты новостей в поисках причин для падения. Говорят, что снижение идет все по той же причине — европейские лидеры все никак не могут договориться о том, как спасать Грецию. Они встречались в выходные в Польше и ни о чем не договорились. Некоторые участники рынка ожидали прояснения ситуации вокруг того, что покупал ЕЦБ.

Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou canceled his trip to the U.S. He said in a statement that the coming week is «particularly critical for the implementation of the July 21 decisions in the euro area and the initiatives which the country must undertake.»

Added to negative sentiment was Moody's pessimistic take on Italy's austerity package. The ratings agency said the plan was 'credit negative' for the country's regional and local governments as it added pressure on already stretched local budgets.

In the US President Barack Obama is set to unveil his plans to reduce the public deficit by delivering savings of $3 trillion over the next 10 years as part of the deal passed in early August to increase the Federal debt limit.
